BERKELY HEIGHTS -- Marylee (Rudnick) Carney Ruerup of Berkeley Heights passed away at Berkeley Heights Nursing and Rehab on May 6, 2007. She was 61.
Born in New York City, Mrs. Ruerup moved to Chatham when she was 9. She graduated from Chatham High School in 1963. She had also lived in Budd Lake and East Bangor, Pa., before moving to Berkeley Heights eight years ago.
Mrs. Ruerup was the group home manager for ARC of Warren County, an organization for the developmentally disabled, in Hackettstown. Prior to that she had worked in various positions with local businesses in the area. Mrs. Ruerup was a member of NOCC (National Ovarian Cancer Coalition), an organization which supports the awareness of ovarian cancer. She was also a parishioner at Our Lady of Peace Church, where she had been an active member of the altar society. Mrs. Ruerup loved the outdoors and the atmosphere of the Jersey Shore. She will be fondly remembered for her good heartedness, her love of life, and her positive outlook on everything. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of eight years, Hank; her loving children, Robert F. Carney of Lansford, Pa., Colleen Weaver and her husband James of Bethlehem, Pa., and Scott J. Carney and wife Michele of Lewes, Del.; her cherished grandchildren, Alexis, Autumn, and Ethan Carney, and Sarah Weaver; and her dear sister, Dorothy A. Rudnick of Chatham Township.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Church, 111 South St., New Providence, on Friday, May 11, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Fair Mount Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Chatham, on Wednesday, May 9, and Thursday, May 10, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. For further information or to send condolences go to www.bradleyfuneralhomes.com.
